Calera Supported Initiatives

In close partnership with the Evans leadership team, Calera supported initiatives that significantly grew the company and broadened its scale and reach:

  • Expanding the Core Drayage Offering: Invested in recruiting, geographic expansion, and national account programs — driving over 20% organic growth while maintaining 98%+ customer retention
  • Entering Adjacent Markets: Extended the agent-based model into new modes, including flatbed and dry van. These segments grew by 4x and became a meaningful part of the overall business
  • Building a Freight Brokerage Platform: Launched and built a top 30 freight brokerage operation from the ground up, establishing the systems, team, and scale to fuel continued rapid growth
  • Executing on Strategic Acquisitions: Completed 7 targeted acquisitions aligned with Evans’s culture and long-term strategy, while developing and proving out a go-forward acquisition and integration model
