John N. Lilly
is an Operating Partner of Calera Capital.
Mr. Lilly is the former President and CEO of the Pillsbury Company, which
until late-2001 was a global $6.8 billion stand-alone business, built around
five major brands: Pillsbury, Totinos, Häagen-Dazs, Green Giant and
Progresso. As the President and CEO of Pillsbury, Mr. Lilly was responsible
for worldwide operations, including 17,000 employees in 21 countries, both
retail and foodservice product lines, and 66 plants in the Americas, Europe,
and Asia. Previously, Mr. Lilly was President of Pillsbury's North
American Division. London-based Diageo plc sold Pillsbury to General Mills
in October 2001.
Mr. Lilly began his career with The Procter & Gamble Company in
1976, where he held positions including: Regional Vice President – Europe,
Middle East, Africa, General Export; Regional Vice President – Europe;
Vice President and General Manager – US Juice Products; and General
Manager – Olestra Division. His career at P&G is highlighted
by responsibilities for over 30 different consumer brands and the launch
or expansion of new items in 20 categories and in 16 countries.
Mr. Lilly is a former Director of Specialty Brands, Inc. (frozen food
products) and is a Board Member of the National Public Radio Foundation.
Mr. Lilly joined Calera Capital in January 2004.
Mr. Lilly received a B.A. from Emory University and an M.B.A. from Harvard
Business School.
